Chance of area showers improves later today

Overnight clouds will linger into today and breezes will keep high temps in the low 60s, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek said Tuesday night.

"A few showers can't be ruled out at any point, but a better chance for rain will arrive later in the day and evening," he said.

The chance for thunder increases with more widespread showers tonight.

Temps will be near 50 Thursday morning as showers and thunderstorms will continue to progress through the region.

"The timing of the rain will be random as these batches of rain may not cover all areas at any given time," Wirdzek said.

"A few thunderstorms are expected, which could have gusty winds, especially later on in the day," he said.
