Broken water pipe forces Northeastern High School to close early

HARMONY TWP. — A broken underground water pipe sent Northeastern High School students home at 10 a.m. Thursday and caused officials to cancel preschool and kindergarten classes that are held in the building, located at 1414 Bowman Road.

School officials noticed water pressure problems shortly after the students arrived, said Cheryl Bowen, assistant to the principal. Once the broken underground water pipe was identified, officials were notified that the water would have to be turned off to the building in order to do the repairs.
