UPDATE @1:45 p.m.: Retired Gen. Michael Flynn, who was mentioned as a possible VP pick for Donald Trump. rallies the crowd in Springfield. Says Trump is about to start soon.

UPDATE @ 12:30 p.m.: U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana and State Senate President Keith Faber, R-Celina, kick off the Donald Trump rally in Springfield. "I want you to vote for the top of the ticket all the way to the courthouse," Faber told the crowd.

UPDATE @ 11:15 a.m.: The right lane of eastbound Ohio 41 is backed up to at least Bird Road as more people are heading to the Clark County Fairgrounds for the Trump rally today.

Traffic is also backing up onto Interstate 70 near the Ohio 41 exit for the Clark County Fairgrounds.

Drivers shouldn’t park along I-70 and walk to the fairgrounds because their vehicle will be towed if it’s left on the side of the interstate, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

FIRST REPORT: Hundreds of supporters from across the state lined up early this morning to get prime seats for a Donald Trump rally in Springfield.

The Republican presidential nominee is holding a rally at 1 p.m. today at the Champions Center at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 South Charleston Pike.

Doors open for the rally at 10 a.m.

It's the second visit in two weeks from the major political candidates. Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine held a rally in downtown Springfield last week.

Springfield resident Michelle Butler and Columbus resident Bob Aubuchon were the first people in line at 5 a.m. this morning.

“I wanted to be first line in to see our next president,” Butler said. “He’s going to take America back.”
