A Springfield father has been charged with child endangering after police alleged he overdosed while three children were home.

Police responded to his home in the 700 block of Garfield Avenue on Friday evening and found Shelton lying on the living room floor unresponsive, according to court records.

Three children were home with him at the time, records show. A neighbor walked over to talk with him and noticed him on the floor, court records say, and called 9-1-1.

He was revived after he received 8 mg of Narcan, according to the report. Shelton allegedly told police he had snorted something but couldn’t say what it was, the report says.

He later was overheard telling a nurse he had snorted Percocet, police said.
