Shots on Washington Street hit male


A male in his 20's has been transferred to an area hospital after a shooting Sunday evening.

Just before 8 p.m. law enforcement officials responded to a report of a person shot on Washington Street.

Upon arrival at a home in the 300 block of the street, emergency crews located a male subject with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Medics on the scene transferred the victim to Greene Memorial Hospital treatment of his injuries.

A cause for the shooting was not disclosed at the time of the incident, which remains under investigation.
