No arrest made in Springfield shooting

Police are searching for a male accused of shooting a man Wednesday in a Springfield neighborhood.

Officers responded a few minutes after noon to a report of shots fired on the 1700 block of Clay Street, according to a Springfield police incident report.

A resident told officers she saw a new-looking silver Dodge Ram pickup with tinted windows drive off, headed north on Clay and then east onto Fremont Avenue.

Police described the driver as being dressed in a grey T-shirt and black sweat pants.

The 30-year-old victim, hit in the upper left thigh, was treated and released from Springfield Regional Medical Center, police said.

Police said the victim told them he did not see the suspect or know why he would have been shot.
