The pie features 16 dough pockets filled with a blend of five Italian cheeses on the outside of a hand tossed pizza.
Doug Terfehr, a Yum Brand spokesman, said the creation is the result of work started by Pizza Hut food innovation team a year ago.
Terfehr said some people who have tested the pizza start with the cheese pockets. Others save them for last.
“It’s really up to the person eating the pizza,” he said.
Crazy Cheesy Crust follows in the tradition of Pizza Hut products like Stuffed Crust Pizza, Ultimate Stuffed Crust Pizza and Cheesy Bites.
It will be available for a limited time only. A large one topping Crazy Cheesy Crust Pizza is being sold for $12.99. Additional toppings are $1 each. Extra cheese is $2.
