5 Donut Day deals and how Troy Strawberry Festival donuts are made


It is time to eat the donuts.

Today, June 6 is National Donut Day.

Just in time for the annual made-up observance, The Troy Music Boosters are busy making 156,000 strawberry donuts for this weekend’s Troy Strawberry Festival.

Here are five National Donut Day deals. Some are better than others and one will help a charity.

Krispy Kreme, various locations

The Deal: a free doughnut — any variety to customers today. No strings or requirement for an additional purchase attached. Click here for more information.

The Donut Haus Bakery, 305 W. Central Ave. in Springboro

The Deal: The locally owned bakery will donate $1 to the Salvation Army for every dozen sold.

Customers will also receive an extra donut — making it a baker’s dozen — when they purchase a dozen donuts.

Dunkin’ Donuts, various locations

The Deal: Free donut with the purchase of a beverage today. Pricing and participation may vary.

Tim Hortons, various locations

The Deal: A free donut with any purchase today.

Fazoli’s, various locations
