Local man wins legal award

Michael J. Greene was the top vote-getter among North Carolina criminal defense attorneys in business among North Carolina’s Super Lawyers 2014. He was listed among the top attorneys by his peers in criminal defense. A 1991 North High School Graduate, he is the son of Pamela Greene of Springfield and the late Jerry M. Greene.

Farm receives Ohio Proud certification

The Huenke Family Farms and their “Jody’s Just Jam” recently became a licensed partner in the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Ohio Proud program.

Ohio Proud is a marketing program that works to increase awareness of products that are made and grown in Ohio.

Owners of the Huenke Family Farms said they are proud about the new Ohio Proud membership, and encourage other local food and agriculture companies to join the Ohio Proud team. The farm is located at 3710 Shrine Road in Springfield.

The Roost Real Estate Co., a new real estate firm founded by local broker Chris McAllister, is open for business. The new firm is located in the Bushnell Building, 14 E. Main St.

The company’s mission is not only to serve the needs of individual buyers and sellers, but real estate investors and the clients they rent their properties to. The goal of the firm is to serve everyone who needs a home, whether they rent or own.
