In a statement to the Associated Press, Oakland police said no arrests had been made yet, and they were still investigating the armed robbery.
An engineering manager from Oakland, California, Schneider has particularly set a “Jeopardy!” record for most consecutive games won by a woman and is also the highest-earning female champion. In fact, she is nearing the $1 million mark, currently standing at $897,600.
Money aside, Schneider remains empowered by her impressive run thus far, hoping to inspire other women to succeed in the process.
“What will feel even better is someday seeing many more women atop the all-time leaderboard,” she said. “There are so many forces in our society that push women away from this type of intellectual achievement. So, anything I can do to counteract that in my own small way would be a wonderful legacy to have.”
She can be seen on “Jeopardy!” weeknights at 7:30 p.m. on WDTN Channel 2.
