Sunsets to start earlier as summer winds down


Heading through the middle of July, summer is in full force.

Dayton has reached the point of our warmest daytime high temperature on average, which is 84 degrees. The sunset has also begun to change.

The latest sunsets in Dayton are around 9:08 p.m. As of July 12, the sunset is 9:05 p.m and the daylight hours will continue to shorten through the month. 

By July 31 the sunset will be 8:50 p.m.

Fall officially begins Sept. 22 and by then the sunset is around 7:30 p.m. 

Through the month of July the amount of daylight decreases by about 40 minutes!
