Sunny today, snow or rain possible Monday

After a winter storm that brought ice, snow and sleet last week, the coming days are expected to be sunny with typical February cold.

This morning will be an extremely cold start with wind chills at or below zero, the National Weather Service in Wilmington said in a Twitter post. Dress in layers, wear a hat, limit time outdoors are some of the tips NWS listed for people to be safe.

Sunny skies will rule today, with a warmer temperature just above freezing at 34 degrees after a brisk morning. Gutsy winds are expected along with low wind chills value of minus 5 degrees.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy, and the low temperature will dip to about 16 degrees.

Monday will be partly sunny with temperatures again just above freezing around 34 degrees. An incoming cold front brings a chance of light snow showers or precipitation for Monday, the National Weather Service said.

Slightly warmer temperatures are expected to follow, the NWS said.

Colder temperatures are expected Monday overnight with a low of 12 degrees. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and winds are expected to calm down after midnight, the NWS said.

Tuesday, expect a sunny day and a high of 33 degrees.

Overnight temperatures will be warmer than recent nights with a low of 26 degrees. Partly cloudy skies are expected.

Wednesday calls for slightly warmer temperatures, expected around 40 degrees or so. The day will be mostly cloudy.
