Sunshine today, rain returns this week

Today will be warm and sunny, with the possibility of a few isolated storms tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

It will be dry during the day, with temperatures ranging from 85 to 90 degrees.

The chance for rain and isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms increases through the night, especially north of and along Interstate 70, according to NWS. The main threat is gusty winds.

Otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy. The temperatures overnight will be cooler and in the low 70s.

There will be a lull in the rain and storms Tuesday morning. Thunderstorms and showers could return during the afternoon, with the best chance southeast of Interstate 71.

High temperatures will reach the mid-80s.

Tuesday night is expected to be mostly clear with cooler temperatures once more. The low overnight will be 62 degrees.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout the day Wednesday, with highs in the mid-80s.

Overnight is mostly clear with lows reaching 61 degrees.

Dry and seasonable conditions are forecasted for the rest of the week, according to NWS.

Highs will reach the low to mid-80s Thursday and Friday, with Saturday expected to be slightly warmed.
