Areas north of Interstate 70 have an elevated risk for severe weather. The main threats are damaging winds and large hail but isolated tornadoes are possible, the NWS said.
The NWS issued a tornado warning in Champaign County at 8:01 p.m. after radar indicated one may be present in a severe thunderstorm located over North Lewisburg that was moving east at 25 mph. The warning ended at 8:22 p.m.
Shower and storm activity is expected to end before midnight. Tonight will be partly cloudy with an overnight low around 63 degrees.
Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 78 degrees. Friday night will be mostly clear with an overnight low around 60 degrees.
Saturday will be sunny with a high near 81 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers between 1 and 2 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Skies will be mostly clear Saturday night, with an overnight low around 60 degrees.
Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 82 degrees. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. Sunday night will be partly cloudy with an overnight low around 62 degrees.
