As the days grow shorter and the air gets cooler, Mother Nature has started pulling back the blanket of green foliage to reveal the bright reds, yellows, oranges and browns of autumn at Lincoln Park in Kettering. MARSHALL GORBY\STAFF

Today will be mostly sunny and warm, with highs well above normal for most of this week.

The high temperature for today is expected to reach near 77 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Clouds will increase during the evening, though, for mostly cloudy skies overnight, when temperatures will fall to a low around 58 degrees.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and a little cooler with light winds. Highs will be around 73 degrees.

Overnight, it will be mostly cloudy with a low around 56 degrees.

During the day on Thursday, the NWS predicted it will be partly sunny, warm and breezy, with highs again up, near 75 degrees.

On Thursday night, however, the NWS predicted continuing light winds, a slight chance of rain shortly after dark and a chance of rain overnight that will continue through dawn. Lows will be around 63 degrees.
