Spring snowfall? Region expected to see flurries Wednesday

After warm and pleasant weather Monday and Tuesday morning, a “taste of winter” will return Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing snow, freezing temperatures and cold, high winds, the National Weather Service in Wilmington reported.

A Freeze Warning goes into effect from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday for Butler, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties.

It will be partly cloudy this evening with overnight lows falling to around 40 degrees.

It will be cooler Tuesday under partly sunny skies and highs near 58 degrees. A chance of rain is possible after 5 p.m. After 2 a.m., rain would possibly mix with snow as low temperatures fall to around 32 degrees early Wednesday. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible, the NWS said.

The snow is expected to end by 9 a.m. Wednesday, then a slight chance of rain showers is possible after 3 p.m. Otherwise it will be mostly sunny but cooler with a high near 43 degrees. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

Wednesday night, there is a chance of rain before 10 p.m. then a slight chance of snow between 10 p.m. and midnight. It will be mostly cloudy overnight with subfreezing temperatures around 29 degrees. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.
