Bill Wampler will make his debut with the Wright State University men’s basketball team this coming season after transferring from Drake and sitting out. But before he plays for the Raiders, he’ll represent the United States in the upcoming FISU America Games at Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound redshirt junior was among 10 players chosen for Team USA by Athletes in Action. Basketball is part of the 13-sport, collegiate-level event that will draw teams from 20-25 nations from North and South America.

The opening ceremony is Friday, July 20. Basketball will be held from July 24-28 at the Brazilian Paralympic Center.

Wampler averaged 9.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in his final 2016-17 season at Drake.
