“We have to find a way to replace arguably one of the best groups of players ever to come through college football. They won 50 games, they won a national title. Highest graduation rate in the history of Ohio State University and a record for the NFL draft,” Meyer said.
“So I’ve been asked a lot of questions about a young team. The issue would be if it was a non-talented young team, but that’s not the case at all. It’s a very young team, but very talented.”
The recruiting rankings back up that belief. According to Scout.com, Meyer has signed a top 10 class every year since he got to Columbus. That includes the No. 1 class in the country in 2013 and the No. 2 class last winter.
There is a distinct possibility every new starter will be a four-star recruit. There are two exceptions, and one of them is five-star defensive end Sam Hubbard, who is slated to replace NFL first-round pick Joey Bosa, who was also a five-star recruit. The other is junior linebacker Chris Worley, a three-star recruit in line to replace first-round pick Darron Lee, who was also a three-star pick when he arrived on campus.

Meyer is not getting his guys sized for rings, yet, though.
He called the upcoming training camp “probably the most critical coaching month that our staff, speaking for myself, that I’ve ever been through because we have to get these kids ready.”
“It will be interesting, but I’m very excited to be around them as all our coaches are this time of year.”
