HS Roundup 1/26: Troy Christian wins on buzzer beater

Colt Tanner drained a three-pointer in the closing seconds to give Troy Christian a 44-42 win over rival Dayton Christian in boys basketball action Friday.

The win boosted Troy Christian to first place in the Metro Buckeye Conference at 8-1 and 14-2 overall.

James Anderson led TC in scoring with 12, passing the 1,000 point mark for his career.

Matt Welker had 14 points for DC.

Trotwood 87, Sidney 53: Amari Davis poured in 30 points, Myles Belyue added 23 and Justin Stephens 12 to lead Trotwood in the rout. Darren Taborn paced Sidney with 12 points and Keith Lee and Andre Gordon had 11 apiece.

Wayne 51, Lebanon 37: Wayne recovered from a slow start to remain unbeaten at 14-0. Harrison Hoofkin had 14 points with eight rebounds for Lebanon.

Centerville 46, Northmont 38: Matt Pearce paced Centerville with 12 points and Jevon Henderson added 10. Ryan Foy finished with 14 for Northmont.

Miamisburg 40, Fairmont 35: Jason Hubbard scored 14 points, Duncan Hall 10 and Dane Hall hit two big foul shots in the closing seconds for ‘Burg. Ryan Hall had 11 for Fairmont.

Troy 51, Piqua 48: Zach Reichelderfer tallied eight of his 23 points in the final quarter to help Troy pull out the win. Qurri Tucker had 15 for Piqua.

Xenia 66, Bellbrook 59: Donnie Crouch poured in 34 points in a losing effort for Bellbrook.

Lakota East 47, Oak Hills 46: East went on a 20-13 run in the final quarter to pull off the win. Jarett Cox led the way with 20 points, including the game-winning shot with 1.8 seconds to play.

Middletown 47, Mason 42: E.J. Williams had 16 points, Jawunn Bailey 10 and the Middies rallied in the second half to upset Mason.

Sycamore 59, Lakota West 51: Jared McCorkle led West with 14 points and Myles Greenwood and Matt Oehler added 11 apiece.

Oakwood 52, Valley View 36: Andy Neff poured in 28 points for Oakwood. Ben Herman led Valley View with 11.

Madison 73, Dixie 34: Cameron Morgan scored 13, Grant Whisman 12 and Matt Gomia 11 for Madison. Devin Worley led Dixie with 12.

Brookville 56, Eaton 31: Wade Turner turned in 15 points and Jesse McGriff and Jacob Gudorf added on 11 apiece to lead Brookville.

Carlisle 69, Milton Union 44: Justin Flor had 19 points and Johnathan Shepherd 16 to carry Carlisle.

Carroll 52, Purcell Marian 37: Eli Ramsey scored 16 points and hauled in 10 rebounds and Matt Cogan tacked on 12 points to help Carroll knock off a solid Purcell team.

Alter 41, Roger Bacon 35: Connor Bazelak tallied 15 points and Alter pulled away with a 10-2 run in the third quarter.

Ponitz 81, Stivers 76: Damonte Bailey paced Ponitz with 24 points and 13 rebounds and Malik Pooler tacked on 17 points with 11 assists. Trevon Ellis totaled 17 points for Stivers.

Harrison 58, Talawanda 40: Ty Hornsby tallied 11 points in a losing effort for Talawanda.

Northeastern 60, Mechanicsburg 56, OT: Alex Lockwood recorded 16 points and Eli Justice 15 to give Northeastern the edge. Chris Taylor tallied 20 and Logan Hurst 18 for ‘Burg.

Greeneview 60, Southeastern 42: Mason Schneider poured in 31 points for Greeneview. Tray Thomp-son had 11 for Southeastern.

Greenon 48, Cedarville 35: Andrew Conover put up 17 points and Logan Coppock 12 for Greenon. Col-by Cross had 12 for Cedarville.

West Liberty-Salem 63, Triad 54: James Loffing recorded 15 points and Holden Nease and Max Eg-gleston added 12 apiece for WLS. Hadley LeVan had 20 for Triad.

Tri-County North 70, Newton 47: Dillon McCullough tallied 20 of his 31 points in the second half for TCN. Treg Jackson netted 21 for Newton.

National Trail 66, Tri-Village 50: Cameron Harrison totaled 21 points, Travis Hunt 16 and Dalton Mason 13 for Trail.

Fort Loramie 62, Fairlawn 39: Dillon Braun scored 18 points, Austin Siegel 13 and Evan Berning 10 as Fort Loramie bounced back from a Tuesday loss.

Houston 67, Botkins 61, OT: Caleb Sluss scored seven of his 13 points in overtime for Houston. Zane Paul had 15 for Botkins.

New Bremen 66, New Knoxville 51: Avery Powers and Grant Hoehne each put up 19 points for New Bremen. Ben Lammers had 19 for New Knoxville.

St. Henry 68, Coldwater 48: Zach Niekamp scored 17 points for St. Henry, which opened the game on a 24-12 run.
