HS Roundup: Gordon, Roberts pace Sidney in season-opening win

Andre Gordon poured in 30 points and Ratez Roberts set a school record in Sidney’s 75-49 boys basketball season-opening win versus Tippecanoe on Friday.

Roberts became Sidney’s all-time leader in blocks, passing the 360 mark for his career. Roberts also scored 12 points and Darren Taborn tacked on 10.

Nolan Mader led the way for Tippecanoe with 22 points and Ben Sauls added 12.

Boys Basketball

Anna 72, Botkins 46: Bart Bixler led Anna with 22 points and Griffin Doseck added 18. Tyler Free of Botkins locks in 14 points.

Badin 63, Cincinnati Christian 61: Justin Pappas paced Badin with 29 points. Miguel Ringer scored 16 points in a losing effort.

Brookville 75, Franklin 60: Wade Turner scored 21 points and Manny Willis added 13 points with 11 rebounds off the bench for Brookville.

Butler 72, Piqua 38: Michael Kreill totaled 18 points for Butler and Braedon Norman tacked on 14. Trey Richmond led Piqua in a losing effort with 11 points.

Carlisle 57, Dayton Christian 40: Joe Gay recorded 17 points for Carlisle, with Nolan Burney adding 13 and Austin Redavide 10. Dayton Christian’s Anton Webb had 16 points.

Centerville 53, Springboro 46: Matthew Pearce put up 17 points and Jason Sneed 10 as Centerville rallied in the second half.

Elder 62, Fairfield 55: Peyton Brown put up 18 points and Zavian Ricks 12 in a losing effort for Fairfield.

Hamilton 58, Northwest 52: D’Marco Howard’s double-double of 21 points with 10 rebounds paced Hamilton.

Lakota West 56, St. Xavier: Matt Oehler led Lakota West with 17 points, Carter Combs added 14 and Brady Weber 10.

London 64, Shekinah Christian 27: Trey Woodyard tallied 25 points with eight rebounds to lead London.

Miamisburg 67, Tecumseh 37: Alex Ball scored 18 points, Duncan Hall added 14, and Brett Hensley with 13 to lead Miamisburg.

Miami Valley 52, East Dayton Christian 32: Alec Martin of Miami Valley tallied 21 points.

New Bremen 52, Kalida 51: Nolan Bornhorst led New Bremen with 16 points and Logan Suchland had 15.

Oakwood 58, West Carrollton 46: Darren Rubin hit back-to-back three-pointers in the final quarter, finishing with 28 points to spur Oakwood at the Spartan Tip-Off Tournament in Waynesville.

Springfield 68, Beavercreek 43: David Sanford led Springfield with 20 points, Raheim Moss tacked on 18 and Larry Stephens 15. Chris Herbort of Beavercreek totaled 18 points.

Stivers 73, Legacy Christian 61: Da’Jaun Allen paced Stivers with 24 points and Allen Latimore added 18.

St. Henry 65, Spencerville 31: Caden Niekamp led the way for St. Henry with 21 points, Ethan Thieman scored 13 and Ben Evans 10.

Troy 66, Greenville 26: Caillou Monroe recorded a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds for Troy. Jacob Martinez also had 19 points. Noah Walker led Greenville with 13.

Twin Valley South 62, Dixie 38: Cole Peterson of Twin Valley tallied 18 points, Willie Bowman added 14 and Jayden Bassler 10. Dixie’s Clark Miller had 10 points.

Waynesville 42, Talawanda 33: Anthony Carmichael had eight points with 13 rebounds and Waynesville went on a 13-2 run in the second quarter to take control at the Spartan Tip-Off Tournament.

Xenia 78, Stebbins 65: Samari Curtis of Xenia poured in 25 points, Johnzel Gray 18 and Jate Bradley 14.
