HS Roundup 2/12: Bates leads Preble Shawnee past Monroe

Joey Bates put up 17 points for Preble Shawnee in a 60-48 win versus Monroe in boys basketball on Monday.

Chase Thompson tacked on 15 and Austin Moore 12 for Preble, which improved to 15-5 overall.

Tristan Backas led Monroe with 19 points and nine boards.

Greenon 54, Fairbanks 44: Greenon, led by Logan Coppock with 18 points and Cade Rice with 12, got off to a hot start then held on for the win.

Belmont 67, Stivers 50: Jadon Furlow finished with 19 points and Philip Harewood 16 to lead four players in double-digit scoring for Belmont. Trevon Ellis scored 16 for Stivers.

Delphos SJ’s 65, New Knoxville 44: Jared Wurst led DSJ with 16 points and Lucas Metcalfe added 12. Caleb Lageman netted 18 for New Knoxville.

Girls Basketball

Fairborn 56, Miamisburg 50: Fairborn held off a Miamisburg rally for the win. Kirah Pringle had 14 points and Alex Sperry 11 for ‘Burg.

Legacy Christian 60, Xenia 30: Emma Hess poured in 30 points and Kathleen Ahner added 11 to lead Legacy in the rout.

Twin Valley South 58, Mississinawa Valley 39: Kelsie Shafer scored 19 points, Mylan Crews 17 and TVS put the game out of reach with a 11-2 run in the third quarter. Bailey Johnson had 12 for MV.

Mechanicsburg 54, Riverside 36: Kasey Schipfer tallied 23 points and Meagan Hux 11 to lead ‘Burg. Marissa Davis recorded 17 for Riverside.

Boys Bowling
