HS Results 11/11: OSSCA, MVSSCA release yearly awards


The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association revealed the All-State awards on Saturday, with several area players and coaches receiving honors.

Ryan Bernt (Beavercreek), Sean Dosedel (Carroll) and Linden Eberle (Lakota West), Dominic Ruffolo (Alter), Caiden Smith (Tippecanoe), Noah Alexander (Dayton Christian) and Korry Hamlin (Bethel) each received first team honors in their respective divisions.

On the girls side Diana Benigno (Beavercreek), Alexis Goins (Fairfield), Olivia Page (Springboro), Bekah Vine (Bellbrook), Lauren Dietz (Alter), Lauren Weimer (Tippecanoe), Gabby Hollar (West Liberty-Salem), Saylor Jewell (Preble Shawnee) and Josie Krupp (Catholic Central) each made first team.

Alter girls coach Javier Iriart and Botkins girls coach Kendra Berryman each were tabbed as a coach of the year and Fairfield’s Patrick O’Leary received the Kim Mahoney Award.

Bernt, Smith and Alexander were also given player of the year honors for the boys in the Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association All-Area teams. Page, Dietz and Hollar were named players of the year for the girls.
