HS Results 11/15: Merkle, Vrettos headline SWBL All-League teams


Bellbrook’s Kira Merkle and Waynesville’s Dora Vrettos were each tabbed as the players of the year in the Southwestern Buckeye League girls volleyball All-League selections on Wednesday.

Mara Neal (Bellbrook), Ariel Richardson (Eaton), Hailey Jordan (Monroe), Taylor Mooers (Monroe), Hannah Grupe (Oakwood) and Megan Cotterman (Valley View) earned first team selections for the Southwestern division.

In the Buckeye division Reagan Blanton (Waynesville), Megan Zebell (Waynesville), Kaylie Campbell (Preble Shawnee), Abbie Goudy (Milton Union), Samantha Shell (Dixie) and Haylie Wilson (Carlisle) were placed on the first team.

Lisa Harvey of Waynesville and Lynzee Johnson of Bellbrook were both named coaches of the year.
