Reds look to extend one of their longest active win streaks

The Cincinnati Reds will try to continue one of their longest active winning streaks tonight when they open a six-game homestand against the Detroit Tigers.

The Reds have won three in a row against the Tigers, which is is their second longest active streak and could become their longest with a two-game streak. The Reds have won four in a row against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The last time Cincinnati and Detroit met was in 2015, when Detroit won the first of four before the Reds reeled off three consecutive wins, with the last one coming nearly two months after it’s originally scheduled date due to rain.

The three winning pitchers for the Reds were Collin Balester, Burke Badenhop and Michael Lorenzen.

The Reds are 11-11 all time against the Tigers, including 3-2 at Great American Ball Park.

The only other teams the Reds have active winning streaks of at least two games against are Kansas City (two), and the New York Mets (two).

Their longest active losing streak is nine against the Boston Red Sox.
