Recruiting: Five-star lineman Carman includes Ohio State, Clemson in final 5

Fairfield senior is Ohio’s top-ranked player in Class of 2018

Jackson Carman, the Fairfield five-star offensive lineman, has trimmed his potential college destinations to five schools.

WCPO reports Carman is down to defending national champion Clemson, Florida State, USC, Ohio State and Wisconsin (in no particular order).

247Sports rates Carman the No. 1 player in Ohio and No. 8 in the nation.

Teammate Malik Vann, a four-star defensive end, has committed to Cincinnati.

Carman has visited Ohio State, Clemson and USC unofficially. NCAA rules allow him to take five official visits this fall.

Under a new provision, football players can sign a national letter of intent in late December or wait until the traditional date in early February.
