The Cincinnati Bengals are bringing back another former player with the announcement of today’s signing of defensive tackle Pat Sims.

A third-round pick of the Bengals in 2008, Sims appeared in 60 games for the team in five seasons before signing a free-agent contract with Oakland in 2013. He played in all 32 games with the Raiders the last two seasons.

The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Sims specializes as a run stopper. In 92 career games, he has 264 tackles, seven sacks and one interception.

“Pat was a good player for us here, and we think he can fill a role for us this year,” Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes said in a statement. “He lends a physical dimension. He’s a very aggressive run player, and we’re happy to have him back.”
