Coaches: Wittenberg’s Joe Fincham is 183-41. This is his 21st season. Wabash’s Don Morel is in his first season. He was the head coach at the University of La Verne (Calif.) from 1995-2006 and was 47-54. He spent the last four seasons as the offensive coordinator at Wabash.

Wittenberg notes: Kicker Will Gingery and linebacker Terrance Crowe were named to the Team of the Week. Gingery made 4 of 4 field goals, including one from 50 yards, and averaged 48.8 yards on five punts. Crowe had 20 tackles, including 15 solo tackles. … Jake Kennedy has completed 33 of 59 passes for 417 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. … Luke Bowling leads the receivers with 14 catches for 143 yards.

Wabash notes: The Little Giants were the preseason favorite to win the NCAC. They finished 12-1 last season and 9-0 in the conference. They beat Albion and Thomas More in the playoffs before losing to St. Thomas. … Defensive end Ethan Buresh, linebacker Connor Ludwig and kicker Andrew Tutsie were named to the Preseason All-America team. … Quarterback Connor Rice has completed 24 of 46 passes for 246 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. … Oliver Page leads the receivers with nine catches for 89 yards.
