Middletown native Marshall making a habit of scoring in new pro football league

Another week of Alliance of American Football, another score for Jalin Marshall.

The Ohio State standout who starred at Middletown High School caught a game-tying 23-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Gilbert in the fourth quarter Saturday as the Orlando Apollos beat the San Antonio Commanders 37-29.

Marshall, who scored the first touchdown in league history last week, is fourth in the AAF with 135 yards receiving in two games.

Teammate Charles Johnson is the league’s leading receiver (252 yards) while Orlando quarterback Garrett Gilbert is the No. 1 passer (620 yards).

The Apollos are one of three teams to start 2-0, joining the Birmingham Iron and the Arizona Hotshots.
