West Liberty-Salem 47, National Trail 44, OT: Becka Peterson’s 3-point play with 40 seconds remaining in regulation sent the game to overtime, and Melany Ward went 4-for-4 from the free throw line — her only points of the game — in overtime to lift the Tigers to their first tournament win since 2008.
Peterson had 23 points and Alexis Smith added 10 for the Tigers (14-7). No. 4 seed WLS will play No. 6 Tri-County North in the D-III sectional semifinal at Tippecanoe on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Tecumseh 58, Piqua 41: The Arrows jumped out to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter in their victory in the D-I, Dayton 2 sectional at Lebanon.
Tecumseh’s Bianca Quisenberry had a game-high 25 points, while Chelsey Davis added 16 for the Arrows (18-3).
The fifth-seeded Arrows advance to face sixth-seeded Northmont (12-8) in semifinals on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Lebanon. The T-Bolts beat Tecumseh 59-54 on Jan. 9.
Tippecanoe 61, Northeastern 28: Haley Sparks had eight points as the Jets fell in a D-II sectional game at Xenia, finishing 4-17.
