Series history: George Washington leads 17-16. Dayton lost 87-81 at George Washington in the regular-season finale last season. Dayton has won seven straight games against George Washingon at UD Arena. The Colonials last won in Dayton in 2005. That game featured a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Carl Elliott, who stole a pass and flung up a desperation shot as time expired.
Coaches: Anthony Grant is 13-16 as Dayton head coach. His career record in 10 seasons is 206-126. Maurice Joseph is 34-31 in his second season at George Washington.
Last games: On Wednesday, Dayton lost 71-53 at La Salle, and GW beat Fordham 72-56 in Washington, D.C.
