Watch: Raiders WR Amari Cooper catches first TD since season opener

Oakland Raider-Amari Cooper-touchdown-Thursday Night Football-Oakland

It has been a tough 2017 season for Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper.

After 4 catchers for 62 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ season opener, Cooper hauled in 13 catches for 84 yards in their next five games.

On Thursday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, Cooper hauled in two long touchdown catches in the first quarter. The first was 38-yard grab off a flea flicker. His second was a 15-yard catch that he turned into a 45-yard score.

In the second quarter the Raiders are leading the Chiefs 14-10, and Cooper has 3 catches, for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns.

After big seasons in 2015 and 2016, Cooper was projected to be one of the top wide receivers in the NFL this season. One of the biggest questions that has been asked in 2017 is, why has Cooper been so quiet?

His big Thursday night doesn’t mean that his struggles are over, but at least for one night he has been one of the best players on the field.

Also, having this performance in a nationally televised game will force a lot people to talk about it on Friday.
