Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller produced one of the few good moments his team has had in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
A sack on Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers in the first half, gives Miller 79.5 for his career. That gives him the second most in Broncos’ franchise history, passing former linebacker Karl Mecklenburg.
The Broncos’ record is held by former linebacker Simon Fletcher who tallied 97.5 sacks in his career. That puts him 34th on the all-time NFL list.
Few players in the NFL bring down more quarterbacks on a yearly basis than Miller. He is in his seventh NFL season, and the only one in which he recorded less than 11 sacks was in 2013 when he only played in nine games.
Unfortunately for him and the Broncos, no one else on the team is having that kind of historic afternoon. They have been ravaged by injuries to the point where they look exactly like the team that struggled to score 15 points, and ended up missing the playoffs in 2016.
They are down 14-0 to the Chargers at halftime, and their offense has not had any success.
