Von Miller could move into second in Broncos’ all-time sack list on Sunday

Von Miller has a chance to move up the Denver Broncos’ history books on Sunday.

The Broncos outside linebacker is just a half a sack behind Karl Mecklenburg on Denver’s all time list. Miller enters Sunday’s tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers with 78.5 sacks. Mecklenburg is barely hanging on to the No. 2 spot with 79 sacks.

Miller’s registered a sack in each of his last four games. His 5 sacks are well off pace of his goal, yet he still leads the Broncos in quarterback takedowns.

This time next season Simon Fletcher’s franchise sack record could be in danger. Fletcher’s 97.5 sacks currently tops Denver list. Miller’s posted double-digit sacks the last three seasons. Fletcher’s sack record won’t stand for too much longer.

We’ll see if Miller can move up in the Broncos’ record book on Sunday. The outside linebacker usually gives the Chargers fits, like he does with pretty much all NFL teams.
