Vance Joseph is safe in Denver — for now.
The Denver Broncos coach is not on the hot seat, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
There is a caveat, though. Executive vice president John Elway and the front office do want to see how Joseph and the Broncos fare the remaining three games of the regular season. Meaning, the Broncos can’t just lay an egg the last three contests.
Joseph was able to effectively breathe a sigh of relief following Denver’s Week 14 win over the New York Jets. All 22 stated on this week’s Broncos Facebook Live that Joseph saved his job by ending the team’s perplexing eight-game losing streak. No could would be safe with a double-digit losing streak. Joseph was getting dangerously close.
The Broncos, already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, want to build some momentum for 2018. These next three games are imperative for the team to do so. Game one of three is Thursday night versus the Indianapolis Colts.
