The New England Patriots are gearing up for an interesting Week 6 matchup against the rival New York Jets. While the Jets were expected to struggle this season, they’ve actually gotten off to a solid 3-2 start to the season.
With practices getting underway for the Patriots, there were one or two notable names who were missing from the action. According to Steve Hewitt of the Boston Herald, quarterback Tom Brady was not a participant on Tuesday, at least during the media session.

It doesn’t seem that there’s any major reason to be concerned about Brady’s Week 6 status at the moment. As Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald pointed out, since there’s no injury report being released today, it’s a prime spot for the Patriots to give Brady a day of rest.
In turn, the team doesn’t have to disclose why Brady was absent from practice. It’s purely speculation at this point, but a rest day for Brady would make a lot of sense for the 40-year-old quarterback.
Brady was sacked three times during the Patriots Week 5 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and absorbed multiple other hits, but never showed any signs of being injured at first glance.
