Steelers RB James Conner carried off field against Patriots

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner is the latest player to go down in a physical Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots.

Conner was on the field giving Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell a breather in the fourth quarter, and suffered an injury that did not look good. He appeared to be in a great deal of pain as CBS Sports’ went to commercial break.

Once the break was over, play had resumed and CBS Sports’ Jim Nantz said that Conner was in the medical tent. However, that didn’t allow people watching the game on television to see how Conner got off of the field.

He could not put any pressure on his left leg, and had to be carried off of the field, according to The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.

While this game has been thrilling, it has also resulted in two other players not being able to return to the field. Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, who is having an MVP-caliber season, had to be helped off of the field with what turned out to be a calf injury, and is being examined at the hospital.

Patriots running back Rex Burkhead went down with a left knee injury earlier in the fourth quarter, and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.
