The New England Patriots have always done the league-mandated minimum when it comes to reporting on injuries and in this day and age that means listing a number of players as questionable each and every week.
Against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14, it’s more of the same from coach Bill Belichick. The Patriots ruled right tackle Marcus Cannon and linebacker Kyle Van Noy out while listing a staggering 11 players as questionable, according to a report Doug Kyed of NESN.com.
Linebacker Marquis Flowers, defensive end Trey Flowers, running back Mike Gillislee, cornerback Stephon Gilmore, wide receiver Chris Hogan, defensive back Brandon King, running back Dion Lewis, cornerback Eric Rowe, wide receiver Matthew Slater, offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle and defensive end Dietrich Wise, Jr. were all included on that list.
However, of those 11 players, only Mike Gillislee wasn’t listed as a limited participant in the walkthrough on Saturday. The offseason addition is officially dealing with an illness so his ability to play appears to be truly in jeopardy, but he’s been a healthy scratch in each of the last three weeks anyway.
Everybody else has been able to handle some football activity and would appear to have a chance to play on Monday, though several of those names could be inactive on Sunday simply as part of the numbers game.
