The New England Patriots have made it official that they will be without linebacker Harvey Langi, running back Rex Burkhead and cornerback Stephon Gilmore against the New York Jets on Saturday.
The Patriots announced that Burkhead has been ruled out with a rib injury, Gilmore with a concussion and Langi with a back injury that he suffered in accident on Friday night in which a car carrying he and his wife was rear ended.
Burkhead has been dealing with a rib injury since he had to exit Patriots’ Week 2 victory against the New Orleans Saints. Prior to the injury, he caught 3 passes for 41 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown, and also tallied 2 carries for 3 yards.
No one would’ve thought the Patriots and Jets would have the same record going into Week 6 but here they are, both are sitting at 3-2 along with the Buffalo Bills.
This game is actually a big AFC East matchup. Now this matchup holding the same weight when these two teams play again during the final game of the regular season is a completely different question.
