The Oakland Raiders lost more than a game on Sunday night. Left tackle Donald Penn is done for the year.
Penn is having a foot surgery on Thursday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The procedure will officially end Penn’s season with two games left to play. Oakland’s Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles will be Penn’s first missed game since 2007.
With Oakland’s postseason chances cook, glazed and sliced, the team wants the two-time Pro Bowl tackle to quickly get his foot ailment resolved.
Penn sustain the foot injury in the Raiders’ 20-17 nail-bitting loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. The 12-year veteran has been Oakland’s blindside protector since 2014.
