Carson Wentz’s season-ending injury hasn’t deterred the Philadelphia Eagles from their goal. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins delivered a stern message to his teammates shortly after an MRI confirmed Wentz’s ACL tear.
“Let’s get this [bleep] out of the way, man: Carson being out of this [bleep], bro, that [bleep] sucks. But dig this…whoever’s in this room, that’s who we ride with, man! We said it: We all we got, we all need,” Jenkins said to his team, via Zach Berman of Philly.com. “Believe that… Celebrate that [bleep], know where we’re at. But at the end of the day, man, we have bigger goals. So we get back to work, man. You know where we’re setting our minds: Championships, and that’s it. No excuses. Don’t [bleeping] blink.”
Jenkins did what leaders do. Doubt naturally crept into the team’s mind when their MVP-candidate quarterback went down. The veteran safety is doing his part to try to put a halt to that.
Philadelphia is desperately trying to win its first Super Bowl in franchise history. Wentz’s Week 15 injury is a crippling blow to Philly’s Super Bowl chances. Yet, the NFC East champs are hopeful quarterback Nick Foles will continue the momentum in what has been an electric year in Philadelphia.
