Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey will be on the mend for a while.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that the Cowboys kicker is expected to miss several weeks with a groin strain.
Bailey injured his kicking led warming up during the second quarter in Sunday’s 40-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Cowboys safety Jeff Heath handled field goal duties for the team in Bailey’s absence and converted two of three extra point attempts. It was Heath’s first time kicking in a game since high school.
With Bailey out, the Cowboys are looking for a contingency plan at kicker. ESPN’s Field Yates reported that the team is planning to work out kickers Mike Nugent, Jason Myers, Sam Irwin Hill and Younghoe Koo.
