Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a much different life during his bye week in 2016.
There was a question at that time as to who should start once Tony Romo was cleared to play, and Prescott spent his bye week back home in Louisiana. In 2017, he is the Cowboys’ unquestioned starter, and is little too busy to spend the whole week at home.
“I definitely long for those times of going home and seeing my grandma and just fishing and not having anything I guess you can say on the schedule for the most part,” Prescott said to the Dallas Morning News’ Katie Hairopoulos. “But it comes with the territory, and it’s something I embrace and as I said I truly enjoy being able to partner in these campaigns. …But I’ll get some ‘me time’ and I’ll go fishing this weekend and I’ll still get that time.”
These days Prescott is a spokesperson as well as the starting quarterback of the Cowboys. The companies with which he has endorsement deals include, Beats, PepsiCo and Dannon. Obviously a bye week presents more time than he would normally have to spend on those lucrative obligations.
Another example of just how far Prescott has come since August of 2016.
