Who: Wittenberg (9-1) at Heidelberg (9-1).

When: Noon today.

Where: Frost-Kalnow Stadium on campus of Tiffin-Columbian High School in Tiffin.

What: First round of NCAA Division III playoffs.

Wittenberg notes: The Tigers earned their third playoff berth in four years by routing Oberlin 47-20 last week and claiming the North Coast Athletic Conference’s automatic berth. They tied Ohio Wesleyan for the conference title, but won the tiebreaker because they had a tougher power-rated schedule. … Junior quarterback Reed Florence threw for 2,364 yards with 23 touchdowns in the regular season. He also rushed for 437 yards with 7 touchdowns. Brendon Cunningham led the receiving corps with 51 catches for 787 yards with 7 touchdowns.

Heidelberg notes: The Student Princes lost only to perennial Ohio Athletic Conference champion Mount Union in the regular season (33-14). This is their first postseason appearance since 1972.

Who: Central State (4-6) at Kentucky State (1-8).

When: 1 p.m. today.

Where: Frankfort, Ky.

Central State notes: The Marauders put up a season-high 51 points in a 51-7 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan last week. Gracewell Mahbena kicked three field goals. Robert Martin returned an interception for a touchdown. Daryl Conley ran for two scores. It was the final home game for 11 seniors.

Kentucky State notes: The Thorobreds’ only win was against Lincoln (35-23) in Week 2. All but two of their losses are by double-digits.
