Cotton Bowl conflict: Springfield boys basketball start times adjusted

Springfield’s tripleheader boys high school basketball games against visiting Ponitz on Friday have been adjusted to avoid a conflict with Ohio State football.

The freshman game is at 3 p.m., followed by the junior varsity game at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m. Ohio State (11-2) will play Southern Cal (11-2) at 8:30 p.m. in the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (ESPN).

Springfield is 7-0 and is tied with Wayne at 4-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference National East. The Wildcats return to GWOC play Jan. 5 at home vs. Lebanon.
