DE Zion Tupuola-Fetui verbally commits Washington

Another day, another ‘WOOF!!’ from Washington coach Chris Petersen. The ‘WOOF!!’ tweet, of course, is a reference to the Huskies picking up another Dawg — a commitment from a recruit. In this case, it is Hawaiian defensive end Zion Tupuola-Fetui.

Realdawg.com confirmed that the commitment was, indeed, from Tupuola-Fetui, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound linebacker/defensive end at Pearl City High School in Pearl City, HI. The majority of Tupuola-Fetui’s recruitment has come via the Pac-12, with offers from Cal, Oregon State, Washington State and Oregon, though he also held offers from Hawaii, Nevada, and Vanderbilt.

Tupuola-Fetui’s commitment comes on the heels of a pledge from three-star linebacker MJ Tafisi, who committed late Friday night. Tupuola-Fetuis is the 16th commitment to Washington’s Class of 2018, which is ranked No. 22 in the nation, according to 247Sports.
