This season has not been Wisconsin basketball’s finest.

The Badgers are accustomed to finishing near the top of the Big Ten standings every year, but this season has not been too kindly to coach Greg Gard and his squad. The Badgers were 11-16 overall and 4-10 in conference play going into the game Thursday night against No. 6-ranked Purdue.

The Boilermakers made its way up to No. 2 in the AP Top 25 poll earlier this season but have lost the last two games it has played against Ohio State and Michigan State. The Buckeyes and Spartans, respectively, have performed better than the Badgers.

On Thursday night, however, the Badgers pulled the upset over the Boilermakers, who entered with a 23-4 overall record and were 12-2 in Big Ten play.

The two teams were tied at half, 21-21 in classic Badgers fashion. In the second half, however, the home team closed, eventually winning, XXXXXXX.

Ethan Happ led the team in scoring with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Badgers were 10th in the Big Ten standings coming into the game.

Following the upset, Wisconsin fans stormed the court.
