Wisconsin will be getting its 2018 season started one day earlier than originally planned.
The Badgers’ meeting with Western Kentucky was moved to Friday, Aug. 31, the Big Ten announced Friday. The game was originally set for Saturday, Sept. 1.
The Badgers season opener was one of five games the conference moved. Michigan State’s season opener with Utah State will also be on Aug. 31 next year, while Purdue will host Northwestern in a season opener on Thursday, Aug. 30. Later in the year, Penn State will play at Illinois on Friday, Sept. 21 and Minnesota will host Indiana on Friday, Oct. 26.
The Big Ten first announced it would schedule Friday games in 2016.
Wisconsin also has nonconference home games against New Mexico (Sept. 8) and BYU (Sept. 15) next season.
