Will Grier had more TD passes vs. Baylor than Florida has all season

It’s becoming obvious that leaving Florida might have been the best thing ever for Will Grier.

Against Baylor, he threw for five touchdown passes. His former team, Florida, has had only four touchdown passes all season.

Grier is burning up the record books, and in a year, we’ll be talking about him as one of the top three quarterbacks in college football. He’s already slated to be the best in the Big 12 next season after senior incumbents Mason Rudolph and Baker Mayfield graduate.

The Grier-Sills connection is going to be especially lethal. Sills has the most receiving touchdowns in the nation, and has caught more touchdowns by himself than 93 other FBS teams. It’s a recipe for success, Grier finds Sills, and Sills is most often in the end zone or directly on his way to it.

Even though West Virginia is 5-2, their pair of losses won’t keep them completely away from a conference title. Their only two losses are to Virginia Tech and TCU, two teams ranked in the top 15, neither of their losses were home games, and both of them were single touchdown losses. If WVU can beat Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, a rematch with TCU for the Big 12 title is very possible.
