What USC coach Clay Helton said after the Trojans’ blowout loss to Notre Dame

In a game against two teams hoping to prove they once again belong on the nation stage, only one team showed up, and it wasn’t Clay Helton’s USC Trojans.

USC missed a 27-yard field goal and committed three giveaways in the first half. All three of those turnovers led to Notre Dame touchdowns, as the Irish built a 28-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush continued the domination, rushing for his second touchdown of the night to tie a school record with 10 rushing scores in a season.

Running back Josh Adams capped off the night with an 84-yard rushing score and then a 14-yard touchdown scamper. Adams finished with 191 rushing yards and 3 scores. As a team, Notre Dame rushed for 377 yards and 5 touchdowns.
