What Kevin Keatts said after NC State’s loss to Seton Hall in NCAA Tournament

Eight-seeded Seton Hall (22-11) defeated ninth-seeded NC State (21-12) 94-83 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Khadeen Carrington led Seton Hall with 26 points. Allerik Freeman finished with a career-high 36 points for NC State.

Seton Hall advances to face No. 1 seed Kansas on Saturday in the second round of the Midwest region.

NC State’s Torin Dorin recorded a double-double (18 points, 12 rebounds) in the loss. It was a difficult game for Omer Yurtseven, who had two points, two rebounds and fouled out.

Myles Powell had 19 points and nine rebounds, while Desi Rodriguez scored 20 points off the bench for Seton Hall.

Both teams combined for just 17 turnovers (NC State 10, Seton Hall 7).

Seton Hall (31-of-39) made 15 more free throws than NC State (16-of-27).

This was NC State’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament since reaching the Sweet 16 in 2015.
